That’s Showbiz Theatre Company is a nonprofit organization founded in 2012 by husband and wife Kevin and Elizabeth Costello, both veterans of Theatre for over 30 years. That’s Showbiz is dedicated to providing high quality Theatre Arts education and professional entertainment to Stockton and surrounding communities.
For 11 years, the Costellos ran a traveling educational children’s theatre, performing over 3,500 times, conducting numerous workshops & serving as Artists-in Residence at schools & libraries throughout California. They have been in and/or directed countless plays & musicals at numerous theatres, including The Barn Theatre in Augusta, Michigan where they met in 1985, That’s Showbiz Theatre Company, & in Stockton Civic Theatre’s award-winning production of Sweeney Todd, where Kevin starred as Sweeney & Elizabeth The Beggar Woman.
Kevin has a B.A. in Theatre Arts from Pomona College & also studied British Theatre at Ithaca College in London, England. As of July, 2013, he is the Artistic Director at Stockton Civic Theatre. He is also director of the Saint Mary’s High School Theatre Department , where in 2010 he received the Best Director “Elly” award from the Sacramento Area Regional Theatre Association for Les Miserables. Also in 2010, he was named one of the “Ten Most Influential People of San Joaquin County” by Big Monkey Group Publications.
Elizabeth has a B.A. in Theatre Arts from San Jose State University & also studied at the William Esper & HB Studios in New York City & at the American Conservatory Theatre in San Francisco. She has appeared on T.V.’s One Life to Live & Off-Off Broadway. Elizabeth worked for 13 years in early childhood and elementary education. She currently serves on the Board of Directors at Stockton Civic Theatre and is on the production staff of Saint Mary’s High School Theatre Department.
